- Lines, fenders, docking, knots and all aspects of anchoring, docking and securing a vessel. - Tender Navigation Tools
- Collision Regulations, buoyage, chart work and voyage planning to help you get to where you need to go. - Yacht Tender Handling & Maintenance (Practical Instructed in a 31ft Twin Outboard Center Console):
- Thorough knowledge of all components and procedures of a tender including gauges, electronics, equipment, lubricants, coolants & fuel.
- Pre-Departure and Arrival Checklist
- 10 days of practical tender driving

Opportunities to Gain Experience are Not Always Easy to Come By.
Although some yachts make an effort to give the junior crew a lot of time behind the helm of the tenders, a lot of vessels don't have the time. Experienced tender drivers are generally favored over inexperienced ones, especially when guests are on board. When opportunities do arise, inexperienced crew members often panic and make mistakes. This can result in a long-drawn-out process from months to years before a "guest acceptable" level can be reached. It is up to you to decide whether you would like to wait for the odd opportunity to learn or whether you would like to take control of the situation now.
